Family history for breast cancer
The family history service offers risk assessments to women who have breast or ovarian cancer in their family. This includes personal risk of developing cancer and an assessment of the family risk of carrying a genetic alteration pre-disposing to these.
The service offers screening recommendations, preventative treatments and consideration of referral to genetics department to women who live in north, central and east London.
More information about family history and how cancer starts can be found on the Breast Cancer Now and Cancer Research UK websites.
