Saving you money
Entertainment and leisure
We work in partnership with London theatres and venues to secure heavily discounted – sometimes free – tickets for theatre, concerts and events.
Throughout the year we also run discounted mini-breaks and there are holiday and daytrip discounts available staff, their friends and families.
Concerts for carers
Concerts for Carers offer free tickets to events for all NHS staff. Pick your event, enter the ballot and you might get lucky!
Season ticket loan
Buying an annual season ticket works out much cheaper then monthly or weekly tickets. We will lend you the money for an annual ticket and deduct it from your salary each month.
Looking after your health
Money back for your routine health appointments
Simplyhealth work in partnership with us to offer a health cash plan at reduced rates. This helps you to budget for optical, dental, complementary therapy and even prescription charges for you and your family from only £3.10 a week.
Shopping
Salary sacrifice scheme
From tablets to washing machines, the salary sacrifice allows you to buy electrical items through your salary and pay them off over a set period of time. This saves you 25% of the cost of buying them outright. You can also lease a brand new car, fully maintained and insured, in the same way.

Employee Assistance Programme
For confidential advice from someone outside our organisation, you can call our Employee Assistance Programme on 0800 085 1376 at any time.
Dignity at Work Advocates
Trained Dignity at Work Advocates are available to help provide advice, and to resolve any issues you experience at an early stage.
SpeakInConfidence
SpeakInConfidence is an online system that provides a way for you to anonymously and directly raise ideas and concerns with our senior leadership, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The web-based service is run by a third party and allows anyone to send an anonymous message to any of our executive leaders.
The Guardian Service
The Guardian Service is a safe and independent route for you to raise issues or concerns that affect you, the safety of our patients or your ability to do your job well. It offers an opportunity to talk through the issue before it is raised formally, get support and work to see if a resolution can be found.
It can be anonymous, and any concerns can remain confidential unless you agree for it to be raised with the relevant people within the organisation.
Wellbeing resources
The welfare and wellbeing of our staff is a key priority.
Thanks to the support of Barts Charity, we have invested millions of pounds in improved facilities including:
- Dedicated wellbeing hubs at each of our hospitals featuring comfy reclining chairs
- Improved rest rooms for our dedicated clinical staff to use whilst on shift
- New bike racks and lockers
- A psychological support service to aid people's mental health
Each of our sites also has a wellbeing lead and a network of wellbeing prescribers to help you navigate the support on offer.
