Happy Nurses' Day St Bartholomew's!
Read a message from St Bartholomew's Hospital director of nursing Angela Robinson, or watch below.
Today, on International Nurses’ Day in the Nurse of the Nurse 2020, I want to take the opportunity to celebrate the extraordinary work nurses like you do, and to wish each and every nurse at St Bartholomew’s a very Happy Nurses’ Day.
We live in extraordinary times, and the last few months have shown everyone how amazing nurses can be – committed professionals who place the care of their patients at the centre of all we do.
During the past eight weeks I’ve heard such moving stories of our nursing staff going that extra mile to ensure that patients and their loved ones are cared for.
There are many other stories that never get heard – just dedicated nurses getting on with the job in hand and doing what you do best, delivering compassionate care to all those you look after.
As we celebrate Nurses’ Day 2020, and even though nursing has changed beyond recognition, I’m sure both Florence Nightingale and Mary Seacole would be very proud of the profession they see today – compassionate professionals, hardworking staff, who are there when our patients need us most.
I’m privileged to be the director of nursing at St Bartholomew’s Hospital and could not be any more proud as I am of you today.
So, today, celebrate being a nurse, because we truly are an amazing profession.
Thank you and Happy Nurses’ Day!
