The change starts with each and every one of us

From my experience, conversations at work on race and equality issues are less likely to be had as people can feel uncomfortable. In my opinion it is extremely important that we start having these conversations to  root out any prejudices and biases that we may subconsciously or consciously have towards our patients and colleagues.

Being a ‘No Place For Hate’ Ambassador has given me the confidence and opportunity to speak out for those who are unable to speak up or speak out against all forms of discrimination.

I recognise and cherish diversity

I have learnt to recognise and cherish diversity throughout my life, and from an early age growing up in a polygamous family and attending one of a few Unity Secondary Schools established by the Nigerian Government to help foster unity in a country with hundreds of languages and dialects: I have lived within a world that is beautifully diverse. It set my values and my expectations for how you live and appreciate others in this world.
