Local man and volunteer Frank Charles BEM made his annual Christmas toy delivery to children on the Acorn ward at Whipps Cross Hospital on Tuesday 21 December.

A special delivery of toys and Christmas presents from the football club was sent to young patients at Acorn Ward, bringing smiles, joy and excitement to the entire ward on Tuesday 14 December.

On the eight day of the festive season, we meet Aaron Bishop, head of Site Management at Whipps Cross. 

We talked to David about his role, what he's learnt so far and his ambitions for the future.

Whipps Cross Voices is an upcoming project led by Barts Health NHS Trust Archives, in collaboration with the Whipps Cross Redevelopment team. The project is being funded through a grant from Barts Charity.

Barts Health NHS Trust’s planning applications for a brand new hospital at Whipps Cross and redevelopment of the wider site have been approved by the Waltham Forest Council planning committee.

Ralph Coulbeck, group director of strategy, has been appointed as the interim chief executive officer (CEO) of Whipps Cross hospital. Ralph will take over from Heather Noble, current  acting chief executive in the absence of Alan, who announced his resignation last month.

My typical day starts when I arrive at 7am to clean and prepare the clinicians rooms. I calibrate the Goldman visual fields so it is ready for the Orthoptists. I also help with the vision testing by uploading these onto the sheet for the clinical staff.
