If you have an injury to your limb or spine
We have Accident and Emergency departments at Newham, The Royal London and Whipps Cross hospitals.
If you break a bone in another area and are seen in a different A&E, and you have an X-ray or referral letter, then you can ring for an appointment at the fracture clinic.
They will be able to diagnose your injury and give you initial treatment. If you then need to be seen by an orthopaedic surgeon, you will be given an appointment to be seen in the next available fracture clinic.
Dedicated clinics are run every day and have a plaster room and treatment room. Attendance is by appointment only, however we do see urgent patients referred by the Urgent Care Centre (UCC).
Our fracture clinics are staffed by consultants and our registrars (higher surgical trainee). Plasters are put on and taken off by a team of plaster technicians.
