Transport strikes: plan your journey
Our hospitals will remain open during the upcoming transport strikes. Please plan ahead to allow extra time when attending your hospital appointments.
- National Rail strikes: Strike action is expected to take place on Saturday 2 - Friday 8 December 2023 affecting various train networks.
- There will also be an overtime ban from Friday 1 to Saturday 9 December 2023 which is likely to impact services.
- TfL bus strikes: Some bus routes, mostly in west London, will also be affected by strike action on 1,4 and 22-23 December.
On the days where full strike action is taking place this is likely to result in little or no services across large areas of the network operated by the affected train companies.
Services are also likely to be disrupted and start later on the day immediately following a full strike day. Passengers are warned to expect significant disruption and advised to plan ahead and check before you travel.
Tools for you
The below tools can help you plan your route using other modes of transport.
Disruption will be inevitable even if strikes are aborted because of how long it takes to restore a normal timetable. Checking the latest status updates for Tube, rail and trams and buses and traffic will also help you choose the best route.
Patient car parking is available at our hospitals, however this is limited. Please use other types of transport if possible.
Please call us as soon as possible should you need to cancel or rearrange your hospital appointment. You can find contact details on our appointments page.
