Tottenham Hotspur players bring festive fun to Whipps Cross

Players from Tottenham Hotspur made a special visit to Whipps Cross Hospital today to deliver presents and bring festive spirit to children’s wards.
Ledley King, Fernando Llorente, Jack Roles, Brandon Austin and Chloe Morgan were at Whipps Cross to spread some joy during a time of year that can be tough for patients and their families.
A number of players visited hospitals across London, and former skipper Ledley King commented: “It never fails to amaze me the impact a group of players can have on a Children’s Ward – to the patients, parents and all the staff. It gave everyone a lift at what can be such a difficult time, especially close to Christmas.”
Sharona Sassoon from Wanstead was on the ward with her 23-day-old baby. She said “It was so special and exciting – they’ve brought a bit of magic to the ward.”
Barts Charity, who organised the visit, have recently launched their Greatest Gift Christmas Appeal. They want to spread some Christmas joy to all children and older patients spending Christmas in Newham University and our other Barts Health NHS Trust Hospitals by making sure they have a gift to open on Christmas Day.
To donate a gift, please visit www.bartscharity.org.uk, text GGIF18 £10 to 70070 or call 020 7618 0720.
Thank you Spurs!
