Stars pay tribute to Barts Health staff this festive period

Famous faces from across sport, film and television have recorded special messages in tribute to Barts Health NHS Trust staff and volunteers who are working hard to keep our patients well over this festive period.

Contributions include actor, writer and broadcaster Sir Michael Palin, who underwent four-hour open-heart surgery at St Bartholomew's Hospital in 2019, The Apprentice star Lord Alan Sugar and Spurs and England legend Glenn Hoddle, who underwent a life-saving quadruple heart bypass at Barts Health two years ago.

Sir Michael said: "thank you for the incredibly hard work you have been doing under great pressure over this last year.

"I know (many of you) have still got work ahead and it's hugely appreciated."

Football icon Glenn Hoddle said: "The work that you have put in this year has been unbelievable and I just want to wish you a happy, happy Christmas and New Year."

Watch the films below and check back for more before 25 December.
