Physiotherapists strike action
The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) has announced that physiotherapists will strike at NHS trusts, including our group of hospitals, on Thursday 9 February.
The safety of our patients continues to be our top priority, and we have contingency plans in place to ensure this is not compromised by any industrial action in the NHS.
This includes maintaining adequate staffing levels to ensure that our most unwell patients receive the physio care they require. We are also working with the CSP to make sure we can continue to provide key emergency and urgent services on the day of the strike.
If we need to rearrange your appointment, we’ll contact you directly to get your care booked in as soon as possible. If you have an appointment with one of our physiotherapists on the 9 February and we haven’t contacted you, please continue to attend your appointment. Whilst we will keep appointments where we can please be aware that there may be further cancellations on the day and we apologise in advance for any inconvenience this may cause you.
We are working closely with partners across north east London to enhance community support so patients don’t have to stay in hospital longer than they need to.
On behalf of staff and patients we want the industrial disputes resolved as soon as possible but pay in the NHS is a matter for the Government and trade unions.
