Our group chief executive, Alwen Williams, and non-executive members of the Barts Health board paid generous tribute to our retiring chair Ian Peters for his leadership over the last four years.

We continue to be there for our patients and we are once again open for elective care procedures. If you are invited to have a procedure, or for an appointment at one of our hospitals, please attend. Our urology and ear, nose and throat (ENT) services at Whipps Cross hospital have resumed tackling their waiting lists for non-complex planned surgeries, following its suspension in response to the pandemic.

On Monday, 5^th July, 2021 – the NHS’ 73^rd birthday – medical staff from Newham Hospital and The Royal London Hospital performed the world premiere of ‘Pandemia’, the composition of a young composer from London.
