Leyton Orient bring festive fun to Whipps Cross

Children at Whipps Cross were treated to a special Christmas present when players from Leyton Orient dropped in on Thursday 14 December.
Players David Mooney, Charlie Lee, Matt Harrold and Jamie Sendles-White spread Christmas cheer handing out gifts and speaking to children and families on the hospital's Acorn ward.
David Mooney said: "It's always a pleasure to come and visit Acorn Ward and put a smile on the children's faces. Hospital is not a nice place to be and especially at this time of year but we're always happy to pop in to hand out some gifts and hopefully cheer up the kids and meet the wonderful staff!"
The club visits each year to make sure that children don't miss out on Christmas fun simply because they're in hospital.
Jen O’Sullivan, Acorn Ward Manager at Whipps Cross Hospital, said: “It was great to have Leyton Orient in to visit our younger patients. It’s understandably a difficult time for them but to get a chance to chat and have a laugh with players from their local team is a real boost for them.”
Zosia Czapska, community fundraiser at Barts Charity, commented: “The whole team at Leyton Orient are great to work with and we’d like to thank the players and all involved for their continued support in helping to make young patients’ stays in hospital a little easier at Christmas.”
