Our vaccination programme closes it doors
Today our Barts vaccination outreach service closes today.
It’s been 19 months since the vaccination team at Barts Health and our local partners rallied together to provide Covid-19 vaccines to the people of east London and beyond.
In December we re-joined the national effort to vaccinate the public, opening up vaccine hubs across four sites offering, second and booster vaccines to staff and public.
In that time, Barts Health and partners have delivered an incredible 515,203 flu and Covid-19 vaccines to staff and the public.
Commenting on the achievements of the past year, Tejal Patel Associate Director of Vaccination at Barts Health, said:
''What a proud moment for us to be able to look back on everything we’ve achieved over the 18 months, especially while navigating the peaks and troughs of the Covid-19 pandemic. Every single member of the vaccine team was united in our efforts, despite managing so many other priorities, to help make this programme a success.”
We are also delighted to announce Barts Health and North East London Partnership have successfully been shortlisted in the Patient Experience Network (PEN) National Awards 2022.
Barts Health have made it through in the category ‘Partnership Working to Improve the Experience’
This is for the recognition of partnership working in the delivery of the Covid-19 vaccine to the most needed areas of east London. The shortlist acknowledges the development in creating an innovative outreach vaccination programme.
One judge commented:
“WOW! such inspirational projects to judge this year. They are all winners for me. Having the foresight to innovate and develop ideas during such a testing time is testament to the spirit and resilience of the NHS workforce.”
While the centre is closing its doors, Barts Health are still very much in the vaccines business with our staff vaccination programme starting later this month.
