GUM Alert: Tests for chlamydia and gonorrhoea have changed!

Molecular testing for Chlamydia trachomatis & Neisseria gonorrhoeae

Chlamydia trachomatis and Neisseria gonorrhoeae testing changed to the Roche Cobas system at the beginning of January 2020.

All patients will be required to start using the yellow topped Cobas collection devices immediately.

If you do not have access to these devices, they can be requested through your usual channels.

For further information, please see this GP Letter.

Results for samples received in Aptima/Hologic collection devices will be delayed and after 28th February 2020 will not be tested.

Please help the virology laboratory to prevent disappointment and ensure the information in the letter is disseminated within your working unit.
