Robert, Opi, and Shabina are our April, May, and June Heroes of the Month for Newham Hospital!

Hero of the month award presentation

Robert Kirkham, an emergency medicine junior clinical fellow, was recently presented with a certificate, water bottle and pin badge for winning Newham's Hero of the Month in April. As a positive, kind and caring colleague, Rob's attitude he models towards patients in the emergency department is an inspiration to all.

Patients who may have felt overlooked or judged by society are no exception to his kind, welcoming attitude. He makes every patient feel like they matter, engaging with them on a truly human level, and this something we should all be aspiring to.

He inspires us to make a difference to the patient sitting in front of us, which, in these challenging times for the NHS, should be celebrated and appreciated.
