Newham University Hospital older people’s and stroke services nursing open day
Newham University Hospital is inviting registered nurses to meet and hear from current staff about what it’s like to work in the hospital’s older people’s and stroke departments.
All attending on 24 January 2018 will be assessed, interviewed and, if successful, hired on the day. It’s all part of the hospital’s efforts to speed up the recruitment process meaning they can start work sooner.
Prospective staff - including those who are newly qualified or about to qualify in March 2018 - will have the opportunity to meet with senior leaders, talk to nursing staff and tour the hospital to find out what it's really like to work at the hospital.
Dionne Daniel, Senior Nurse for Older people and stroke service, said: “I’ve been working in Newham Hospital’s older people’s and stroke departments for two and a half years and it is one of the most welcoming places I’ve worked with staff who have a real passion for what they do. I encourage any nurses who are interested in working in these departments to join us on 24 January.”
In an annual survey of NHS workers, Newham staff reported good communication between themselves and senior management, saying that they feel valued. Results also show that more staff at Newham Hospital would recommend it as a place to work or receive treatment compared to the national average.
Interested nurses can drop in to the hospital on Wednesday 24 January 2018 from 9.30am in St Andrew’s Wing, zone one, 2nd floor in meeting rooms one and two.
