Cycle to Work Day: Predrag Trbojevic, physiotherapist

Hello my name is Predrag Trbojevic and I am a physiotherapist at Newham Hospital.

The date is 23rd march 2020, a day full of gloom, uncertainty and the beginning of going into lockdown.

As a Physiotherapist who works care for patients with Covid-19 I am well aware of the risk of spreading this deadly virus into the community. Straight away, I started to think about how to help to minimise the risk of spreading the illness whilst continuing to travel to work and do my bit during this pandemic.

When I read about the ‘Brompton Bike’ offering free hire for NHS staff I thought ‘what a thoughtful and generous offer...that can also save lives whilst making our staff fit and healthy – brilliant!!’

I have been using the Brompton Bike since the beginning of lockdown and it has made my life so much easier. As a result I have not stepped onto public transport since, therefore minimising the risk of spreading the virus especially after spending a day in a ward treating patients with Covid-19.

Cycling home from work after a busy and stressful day has given me a chance to unwind and put my mind at ease knowing that the chance of transmitting the virus have been reduced significantly. In addition to this I have also been using  Brompton bike for weekly food shopping and sometimes for my daily exercise too. Thank you Brompton Bikes you truly have made a wonderful difference to the therapy teams lives during these unprecedented times.
