Consultant at St Bartholomew's Hospital

Dr Ricketts is an experienced chest physician primarily specialising in the diagnosis of lung cancer and related practical procedures such as bronchoscopy, EBUS and pleural procedures.  

He also has clinical interests in unexplained breathless and chronic cough and runs our cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPET) service.

He is also the departmental education lead working closely with colleagues both at Bart’s and the London School of Medicine Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) and Health Education England (HEE).

Research interests

Dr Ricketts is the local lead for the LuCID and SUMMIT lung cancer screening trials.  He also has successfully obtained grants from Cancer Research UK (CRUK) to investigate how data linkage can be used to expedite lung cancer diagnoses.  He has previously led the Streamline L and Radio MESO studies at St Bartholomew’s Hospital and is a nationally recognised innovator in the field of pre-hab in lung cancer.

He has a research degree in Medical Education and is also published in this field.
