• Mr Joseph Aquilina is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at the Royal London Hospital and Honorary Senior Lecturer at Queen Mary University of London. 

• He completed his postgraduate training at King’s College and Greenwich Hospitals. He subsequently undertook research and subspecialty training in feto-maternal medicine/gynaecological ultrasound as a lecturer at St.Bartholomew’s and Royal London Medical School, based at Homerton Hospital

• He provides a specialist service in Feto-Maternal Medicine and Gynaecological Ultrasound. He is the lead clinician for Fetal Medicine and runs one-stop Menstrual Disorder clinic Royal London.  

Research interests

• He has a special interest in the application of ultrasound in the management of benign gynaecological conditions (PCOS) and the ultrasound surveillance of high-risk pregnancies 

• He has supervised various MD projects assessing various facets pre-eclampsia prediction and has been Associate Editor for the Women’s Health Section of Current Opinion in Obstetrics and Gynaecology since 2003: www.londongynaecologist.co.uk
