Dr Guy Lloyd is a clinical cardiologist with special expertise in valvular heart disease and echocardiography. He trained at Guys and St Thomas’ Hospitals both as an undergraduate and post graduate, undertaking a period of research into the specific clinical problems experienced by women with heart disease.

He was appointed a Consultant in 2002 in Eastbourne, Sussex. In 2015 he was recruited to to establish and lead the the echocardiography service at the new Bart Heart Centre where he is now clinical director for cardiovascular diagnostics.

He is a past President of the British Society of Echocardiography, a founding member of the British Heart Valve Society, and a former chairman of the UK Imaging Council.

Guy is currently Honorary Secretary of the British Cardiovascular Society. He holds honorary positions at Queen Mary University of London and University College London, he has over 200 publications and lectures widely.

He runs a large program of research in stress echo, structural heart disease and new approaches to the detection of high frequency diseases in the community.
