• Dr Nandiran Ratnavel has been a Consultant Neonatologist at The Royal London Hospital since 2005. He is Clinical Lead for The London Neonatal Transfer Service.

• He studied medicine at St George’s Hospital Medical School.

• His main area of expertise is neonatology with a special interest in neonatal transport and critical care retrieval.

• Outside the trust he has a role as Joint Clinical Lead for the North East Central London sector of the London Operational Delivery Network and joint implementation lead for in-utero transfers in London as part of the Clinical Maternity Network

• He is an expert advisor for the Healthcare Safety Investigation Branch and Welsh Independent Maternity Services Oversight Panel

• He has been involved in research related to neonatal transport

• Has authored or co-authored 23 research publications, 3 textbook chapters and 8 conference papers
