Dr Hallam is a Consultant Haemato-Oncologist with a specialist clinical practice in lymphoid malignancies, in particular myeloma and its precursor states, amyloidosis, and lymphoma.

He qualified from Cambridge University before carrying out postgraduate haematology training in London gaining fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists. He was awarded a PhD from the University of London as a CRUK Clinical Research Fellow under the supervision of Professor John Gribben on the role of the innate immune system in lymphoma. During this time, he was awarded a Translational Research & Training in Hematology fellowship under the joint auspices of the European Hematology Association and the American Society of Hematology.

Dr Hallam continues his academic involvement as an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the Centre for Haemato-Oncology within the Barts Cancer Institute at Queen Mary University of London. He is actively involved in myeloma research, as a member of the UK Myeloma Research Alliance and as a Chief Investigator and Principal Investigator on several early and late phase clinical trials. He has a senior role in academic publishing as an Associate Editor for Hemasphere, the journal of the European Hematology Association, and is an author of more than 30 published works.

He is an accredited Clinical and Educational Supervisor and is departmental lead for junior doctor recruitment, induction, rota management and training.
