Dr. Ashutosh Kapoor is currently working as a Substantive Consultant in Endocrinology and Diabetes at Barts Health NHS Trust.
He completed the initial Specialist Training in Diabetes and Endocrinology in Northwest England, where he was the Higher Specialty Trainee representative for the entire region from the ST4-ST6 period. Subsequently, he moved to Northwest London during the latter stages of training, where he worked in centers of excellence such as Imperial and Chelsea and Westminster, leading to a successful CCT in August 2023. He has completed the RCP Educator Accreditation programme, the SCE and EBEEDM examinations, and has also helmed the position of Society for Endocrinology Ambassador. He was also a member of the EDI National Workgroup panel. During his training, he successfully published literature in a plethora of journals and multiple conferences in the form of presentations and oral communications.
He holds a special interest in Transition Endocrinology and Diabetes and has represented the adult side in joint clinics conducted in conjunction with the Paediatrics team at Chelsea and Westminster.
He has recently completed the PG Diploma in Diabetes Care programme with Distinction from the University of Warwick and is an avid tutor, which is reflected in his current role as the Undergraduate Diabetes and Endocrinology firm lead at Whipps Cross Hospital.
He has actively led and delivered teaching sessions on MRCP 1, MRCP 2, MRCP PACES and has mentored juniors for interviews.
He has recently taken up the role of the YAD (Young Adult) Lead for Adult services at Whipps Cross Hospital.
In addition to the above, he has also served as an ARCP Panel member for the North East London Deanery Higher Specialist Trainees (HST) ARCPs and has taken on the role of Supervisor for junior doctors.
