WeImprove: a year in numbers
As 2019 draws to a close, we reflect on just how far we’ve come on our journey to put quality improvement at the heart of everything we do.
200: Around 200 members of staff, organised into 44 teams, joined the first wave of quality improvement (QI) training back in June. Their work was focussed on two key areas: making us an outstanding place to work and a provider of excellent patient safety.
28: This year, 28 improvement coaches graduated following six days of intense training. Their role is to guide teams throughout their project.
15: In 2019, we held more than 15 WeImprove events – including training days, conferences and forums – giving thousands of staff the chance to learn more about the benefits of QI.
100: More than 100 staff joined the second wave of QI training in October, bringing the total number of staff involved in WeImprove projects to around 300.
400+: The number of followers to the @WeImproveBarts Twitter account. Social media is a fantastic way to connect with QI professionals across the world.
65: There are currently 65 QI teams across all of our sites, working to make improvements which matter most to them.
93: The number of QI projects registered on LifeQI, an online platform that helps teams to organise their projects.
3: Our teams are now working across three key themes: being a provider of excellent patient safety, making Barts Health an outstanding place to work and providing the very best patient experience.
10: 10 teams from across the Trust presented their progress at the Quality Summit in November, sharing their learnings with colleagues across the organisation.
2,000: The number of staff who have visited the dedicated WeImprove page on WeShare, to learn more about QI and to access useful tools and tips.
1: Last month marked the one year anniversary of our partnership with the Institute for Healthcare Improvement. During this time, they’ve been helping us to grow our skills and experience in QI.
2020: A new year and another chance for you to begin your own QI journey. Find out how here.
