We spent the day at the Coronation of King Charles!
Neil Fletcher, Roald Dahl Teenager & Young Adults Transition CNS spent the day with colleagues at The Queen Victoria Memorial Grandstand to celebrate The Coronation of Their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla.
A wonderful day in the company of three Roald Dahl Marvellous Childrens Charity Nurses and members of Barts Charity team (including the CEO) to watch the Coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla.
It was an early start to be seated within the Queen Victoria Memorial grandstand by 08:30.
It was fantastic to see some of the behind the scenes that you wouldn’t see on the tele. Such as the coordination of the police officers getting into position, it was like watching a dance routine.
We had a vantage position opposite the balcony of Buckingham Palace.
We were able to hear the Coronation over loud speakers but unfortunately, we didn’t have access to any screens so I watched it on the tele when I got home. That was fascinating to watch as I then had the experience of being there and then seeing all the events later on the TV.
Despite being a bit rain sodden it was a thoroughly marvellous day!
